About me
Designer & Creator
Hi, I’m Lindsey — the artist behind Fireheart Forge.
I paint, draw, write, and am learning the craft of silversmithing; all part of an ongoing exploration of how nature and human history intertwine. My work often draws from archaeology, ancient cultures, and landscapes that carry the weight of time. I’m fascinated by the traces we leave behind, both the beauty and the damage, and the ways art can capture what may not look the same in the years to come (think melting glaciers, shifting coastlines, forgotten relics, and quiet ruins).
Art has always been part of me, though I spent much of my adult life climbing the corporate ladder in sales, marketing, and account management until one day, the pace caught up with me. Stress and anxiety became constant companions, and I knew something had to change. So in 2025, I left that world behind and reignited my creative spark. What started as small daily drawings quickly turned into a flood of ideas, and before long, I was painting every day, experimenting with silver, and feeling more like myself than I had in years.
The name Fireheart Art & Forge comes from two places; my last name (Markhardt) and the fire I’ve always felt inside. It also speaks to the act of forging: reshaping something old into something new. That’s true for my art and for this chapter of my life.
“To shape things anew, sometimes you have to light it all on fire.”
That quote has become a personal mantra for me and a reminder that transformation often requires letting old versions of yourself burn away.
I hope my work makes people pause, reflect, and feel a little of that fire too. Maybe it stirs a sense of history, wonder, or even urgency — to see the world, protect what’s left, and leave behind something worth remembering.
When I’m not at my easel or workbench, I’m probably with my family, studying history, sipping coffee during fika, or scheming up my next creative adventure.
Thanks for stopping by. I’m so glad you’re here as I build and share my first collection.
